Plant Jammer ApS is a rapidly growing Copenhagen based scale-up, on a quest to empower billions of people to adopt plant based cooking using AI generated recipes. In order to guide the executive team through the forthcoming expansion on the back of a €4mn investment, the company is initiating a process to gradually professionalise the Board of Directors with strong external people. This process starts with the most essential player: finding a rock-star Chairman who is equally passionate about the climate, technology and the growth journey as we are.

Plant Jammer’s team of 3 chefs and 10 software developers have developed a Digital Chef that discovers delicious personalized recipes for any set of ingredients. Our combination of AI and food and flavor science protect the taste and integrity of the recipe, while allowing personalization for nutrition, local discounts, and taste.

The Plant Jammer recipe app has been downloaded more than 800,000 times and our algorithms have won the IBM Watson AI Prize, the Creative Business Cup 2018, and Green Entrepreneur of the Year award by Veggie World 2019.

How we give kitchen empowerment: Our algorithms make our users the Boss of recipes. They learn how to do delicious adaptations of any recipe to any diet or health target.

Is it just an app? No - to change how 1bn people cook and eat, we supply our algorithms as SaaS to any website or app with recipes. We believe all recipes online should be dynamic like this.

To reach our vision, we need to become world champions in combining data science with food science. We have the team, but we need a strong Board to get us there.

What we are looking for

In July 2020, Plant Jammer received a €4mn investment from Miele Ventures, Dr Oetker, and the Danish VC Vækstfonden. In that connection, we constituted a Board. Accordingly, we already have a board with strong commercial acuman, with representatives of Vækstfonden, Dr Oetker, and Miele Ventures. We meet once per month on Zoom and once quarterly in-person.

Main tasks:

To help professionalise and drive the Board meetings in accordance with both legislation and our investor's requirements.
To set out a strong strategy for our SaaS B2B business line.
Setting the right team (especially concerning the technical hires) and give inputs on the HR complexities associated with rapid growth.
Act as an ambassador for the company and the overall vision.
Provide valuable insights about being a scale-up.

The ideal candidate:

Is an international profile, who have previously held an executive position in an international scale-up.
Is knowledgeable about B2B sales in a SaaS company.
Ideally, the above is combined with some technical understanding (CTO, VP engineering or similar).
Is passionate about our journey, and likes working with scale-ups.
Has the necessary time to become a valuable asset for the company.
